A Fun-Filled Basketball Camp

The Finish Strong Basketball Camp was a blast!  We had 28 kids attend - many who are involved with our Kids Club - and to encourage our theme we gave the the kids who finished the camp a new basketball and a certificate for Finishing Strong.  Each day we started with stretching:

Then we ran lay-up lines and jump shots.  One line would shoot a jump shot or a lay-up, and the other line would rebound:

Then we spent some time working on passing, dribbling, and defense:

On the last day of the camp, we saw the installation of a brand new basketball goal at Willow Pond.  This goal has the ability to be raised or lowered, from 7 feet to 10 feet.  We decided to lower the goal to 7 feet for the last day of camp and broke up in to teams for a scrimmage.  The kids loved it!:

The camp was full of smiles and a lot of fun, and the kids were blessed.  Thank you to Chuck Anderson for the basketballs that each child received for finishing the camp.  And thank you to Luke for his help with coaching.  Behind Every Door will host a second Finish Strong Basketball Camp at Willow Pond starting July 17th!  If you would like information about that camp, visit the Willow Pond Community Center.
